Levaquin is a hugely popular drug used against bacterial infections. Manufactured by the Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals it comes from the family of Quinolone antibiotic. It is highly recommended for its broad-spectrum antibacterial properties. It helps the body to overcome a number of infection caused by bacteria but does not resist diseases caused by viruses. Sucrose, Glycerin, Sucralose, Hydrochloric acid, Purified water, Propylene Glycol, Artificial and Natural Flavors, Benzyl Alcohol, Ascorbic Acid, and Caramel color
The Oral solution pH level is maintained at a range of 5 to 6 , to achieve this condition Sodium Hydroxide solution is also be added to constituents.
Levaquin solution used for injection purpose is stored in a vial and is usually composed of aqueous solution of Levofloxacin in Water .It’s pH ranges from 3.8 to 5.8 .One must note that the drug in the vials are free from preservatives.
One must check whether the levaquin solution is clear if not then the solution must not be used as it can be contaminated. Levaquin medications must be stored in room temperature and must be kept in place where children cannot reach. Consuming the drug unnecessarily might result in decrease of its efficiency in the body hence it must be used only against pathogens, which has been found to be vulnerable to the drug. Tests must be taken occasionally to make sure that the bacteria for which the medication has been prescribed has not developed resistance to it.
